     Many would know while others might not that India was the country from where the genesis of Vote & Democratic Governance arose. Years before Roman Senate, we had Vaishali, a Republic governed by Council of Men.

     But much water has flown since then. Our Civilizations which lead the world at the time, today is a pathetic follower of other's. Blame is on 1200 years of slavery and foreign rule, brought upon by us by our own divisiveness, further accentuated by foreign rulers for them to loot while continuing to divide & rule!

     Unfortunately, nothing much has changed… at present. The loot continues, under the guise of rule. And the rule itself is inefficient & failing on delivering the task set. All that we have to do to verify the same is to visit any primary school in any village of our country…& we know how far we are from becoming a Super Power… The only solace is that democracy, originally ours, is restored!

     However, much the same, our divisiveness continues & thus unaccountable, inefficient rule continues. Our parliamentary system, encouraged by our divisiveness further encourages unaccountability & inefficiency. For example, there are thousands of reports of various fact finding committee, lying in the dust, for lack of affirmative action & forgotten peoples' memory. A case of cheating us… the voters. After 57 years of independence…. We are still struggling to bring basics to majority of population.

     Going back to history, the industrial revolution in 19th century brought power of wealth to the elite. However, the workers suffered. Till one day they organized themselves to form a union, eradicating their divisiveness. The might of powers to be, crumbled & today we have Human Resource department in every business enterprise to look after the interest of the workers & employees.

     Much the same way, our democracy is being enjoyed by few people at the top. Our government goes on being unaccountable to common people for we remain divided. Political Parties make promises, once in five years, with no intentions of honoring them. Till one fine day, they face election, divert our attention on divisive grounds & once again enjoy the exploits of power. We as a voter, after we voted, become a hapless spectator of the dirty games of politics…. Played in our name!

     Democracy is for a population where basic standard of living has been met. A society where education is widely spread & thus people are not ignorant. Unfortunately, none of the above prevails in our country, making the system of democracy and resultant governance full of flaws.

     Union of Voters is program to plug the loophole, given the constraints of our society & the system. Just as Workers Union in business keep the management on toes, on daily basis; our program is to keep the Governing Elite & all the political parties, of respective state or centre, at their toes for them to perform.

     Call is extended to all go-getters proactive fellow citizens, to bring the positive change by the power of being a voter to form the union. We, the educated & belonging to the HAVES community, will together usher a silent revolution which has been much needed since struggle for independence… for a great civilization of yesteryears of ours. We will harness the power of collective voting as against the feeling of helplessness at the time of elections for being singular.

     The world is not perfect, nor can it ever be…however try we must, for if it weren't for search of perfection, we would still have been living in caves!

     On the other side, the alternative is to sit & watch the decadence with the only option of airing our complaints in the air for no real positive consequence.

     Invitation is to you to form the Union to make India a Great Country… a Fully Developed Nation… in our own life time.
